Rafting on one of the most beautiful rivers in the world – The Tara River in Montenegro. The only rival to the Colorado River and also called “The jewel
of Europe”, it is 140 km long and situated in the National Park “Durmitor”.
Rafting along the river you will be able to enjoy part if the 82km unique canyon which is the second largest in the world after The Grand Canyon in Colorado. At some places the canyon is up to 1300m deep. At one place the river is so narrow that locals used to jump across when necessary -

Day 1- Departure from Sofia, transfer to the town of Foca for accommodation at the camping Tara situated on the riverbank.
Day 2 - After breakfast we will get equipped and then head for our starting point of the descent down the Canyon of Tara River. To get there we have to travel by a vehicle suited for the terrain as the road passes on the ridge of
the Canyon. Once we reach our starting point ahead of you lies an interesting rafting descent with wonderful views and rapids. Even we will pass by a magnificent waterfall and we will steer the raft under the splashes of it...
The water in the river is navy-blue and so clear that you can see the bottom
of the river even in the deeper sections. Transfer to Sofia where we will arrive late in the evening. |
